PhD Opportunities and RTP Scholarship Support

I welcome expressions of interest from motivated domestic and international students wishing to undertake a PhD at the University of Sydney in any area of community, functional, or invasion ecology. I am available to support strong applicants in applying for an Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarship.

The RTP is a highly competitive, merit-based scholarship that supports PhD candidates at Australian universities. It provides a living stipend and covers tuition fees for the duration of the degree. To be eligible for admission to a PhD and for RTP consideration at University of Sydney, applicants must typically hold First Class Honours or an equivalent qualification (such as a high-quality Master’s degree with a substantial research component). Demonstrated research outputs, including experience publishing peer-reviewed journal articles, are considered a strong advantage for RTP competitiveness.

Prospective candidates interested in working on insects, ecological communities, invasive species and related questions are encouraged to get in touch to discuss potential projects and suitability.
